Our History

In 2007 Lupita Castillo began her journey as a full time childcare provider with an A registration. Lupita grew her student count rapidly due to high demand for full immersion Spanish education and high quality childcare services.

In 2012, Lupita moved Mundo Pequeño Childcare to a larger facility to be able to accommodate all the new families interested in quality education and care for children.
Mundo Pequeño Childcare growth is driven by the Spanish Immersion Learning Center. Children receive early childhood education in Spanish. As a result babies, toddlers and preschool students become native speakers of the Spanish language as well as English. This ability to learn and use both languages increases students learning capabilities in Elementary School and beyond.
In this new second location Lupita received a Category C Registration which allowed her to hire and train new child care providers within a residential property.

In 2017, Mundo Pequeño Childcare moved to its current location at 1922 SW 1st st Des Moines IA 50315 which has been remodeled and groomed to meet the high standards of a premier childcare facility. This commercial facility has allowed Mundo Pequeño Childcare to fully implement the Spanish Immersion Learning Center by creating the capacity for 59 babies, toddlers and preschoolers who along with well trained providers create a beautiful environment for learning.
